When something Clicks

Does it happen to you? Do you also make pictures or images about the future. It happens to me all the time. If I think of something (obviously not about work) such as the future and I can see the picture clear in my mind...It Clicks and I am game for it. Game enough to stand at the alter and say Yes.

Now that should be a good thing, right? I mean, you would be thinking "Wow !! now this girl knows how to make up her mind". Well...Yes, that's right. But the sad part is that at times in life I had to let go things because the picture didn't click. I have said Goodbye to one of the dearest relations of my life with Mr. India...because it didnt click.

But on the positive side, its only because it didnt click with Mr. India did I find Superman.

Now you would be wondering if this story is sad or happy....well bottom line is that there is no good without bad (remember Ying and Yang, Salt and pepper)...so there is no happiness without sorrow.

Back in college, I was in love with Mr. India. He was my best friend, my soul mate. I just loved talking to him about crushes, friends, flings... We were always over the phone discussing hypothetical issues. I still remember how we solved Data interpretation (CAT stuff) questions over mails.

Well, this went on for long. Over the years I met Mr India hardly a couple of times. Meeting him was sure exciting but a tedious task. Most of the time he was in far away cities running behind bad man Mogambo, or helping poor kids with their meals. Whenever he was in town, I had to ensure that nobody caught me meeting him, I could see him only for sometime. I was getting bored, rather desperate for some real action.
I needed to see the real world. The world of colors and not just red glasses.

And that is when I met Superman. Superman introduces me to the whole new world of Krypton (I know its destroyed...but parts remain) and the best part was that he could fly!!

Its now time for me to say Goodbye to Mr. India. He asks me 'we were so good together, why cant we work" and all I say is 'coz, it dosnt click"

After all how can you capture Mr. India in a picture (he is invisible, right :))

Sleepy City

Sunny afternoons didn't matter nor chilly winter evenings. What mattered was how many of them have turned up and what next.
Growing up in a small town has its advantages. The narrow lanes to run around, open fields to run , trees to climb, abandoned houses to hide and never be found.

The smoke coming out of the industrial towers darkened the dusk skyline. The street lights were out. The birds flying north indicated that it was time to say goodbye to friends and walk home. Mamma would be waiting with a hot cuppa in hand. The school bag would be open and homework would be laid out. Next weeks maths test was on her mind.

She said goodbye to her friends as if they would never meet again. She smirked and knew very well that she would be back tomorrow, running the same length, hair distorted and feet dirty.

It was a short walk home but felt long with the torn sandals and pebbled road. Winter was approaching. She felt  the chill and draped her hands around for comfort.

A little ahead she saw a shadow move and heard a cry. Somehow the sky had become lighter. She wondered who it could be, the lane was normally empty at this time. She was concentrating on the formulas that had to be mug up when she heard her name. Her heart skipped a beat. It sounded familiar, she turned to find her mother. She asked 'What are you doing here. I was coming home ? But her mother just cried silently and said ' I came to say goodbye'. Saying this her mother hugged her.

When she woke up, she was surrounded by a lot of people, some didn't have hands, some without legs, eyes popped out. She felt sick and hot. She tried to move, but couldn't. She looked down and realized that her feet were gone. She was shocked and started calling for her Mamma. How would she go to play tomorrow if her legs were missing, and where was she? what about school?

Suddenly her eye caught a newspaper flying by. The headline read 'All left asleep in sleepy city by blast'.

What is happiness

It's a cold nite. You wake up in the middle of the night and turn around to the warmth. You see them in the most peaceful and innocent state of sombre. You smile, kiss gently fearing they wake up. You turn around and an involuntary grin forms on your face. Then you feel an arm around your waist and think it just cant get better.

This continued for weeks...then she could not feel the warmth anymore. What was left was moist cheeks.
